Message of Fatima: faith, hope and love

Remember what I posted earlier, Benedict's main point in his book, Jesus of Nazareth?

What did Jesus actually bring, if not world peace, universal prosperity, and a better world? The answer is very simple: God. He has brought God. ....

He has brought God, and now we know his face, now we can call upon him. Now we know the path that we human beings have to take in this world. Jesus has brought God and with God the truth about our origin and destiny: faith, hope, and love.

The importance of "faith, hope and love" was already emphasized by then Cardinal Ratzinger in his book God and the World. There he quotes Sor Lucia on what is the real message of Fatima. Sor Lucia told him to tell the world this: Don't take notice of the other things related to the Fatima story. The only message that is important is "faith, hope and love."

Now that the Pope has explained that (contrary to what the Bishops and priests have told us) the Traditional Mass was never banned and has said that it can be celebrated freely, do you think that the priests of Opus Dei or some of them, who are so loyal and devoted to every word from the Pope, will start again to celebrate the Traditional Mass ? I would be very interested to know as I am devoted to much of the spirit of Opus Dei, but even more to the Traditional Mass and the faith it fosters and expresses. Thank you so much [reply to my e mail: rpienne@eircom.net ] I would be helped by your comments. Thank you.

Thanks for your comments. :) I can't really speak for the priests of Opus Dei, as I do not have any authority in Opus Dei.

I do know that (1) there is a lot of freedom in Opus Dei-- each one does what he thinks is right, and tries to do it out of love for God; If he personally likes the Tridentine Mass (aka the John XXIII mass), then so he can say it, IMHO, (2) Opus Dei people are trained to do what is ordinary, what is "natural," because sanctity is found in doing ordinary things out of love for God; and since the John XXIII Mass is an extraordinary form of the Roman Rite, I would tend to understand why some priests reacted to you that way, (3) In order to help the priests of Opus Dei, the Prelate issues his own specific guidelines on how priests of Opus Dei can better serve the piety of the laity in the centers when celebrating Mass. There have no guidelines yet on this as far as I know. Perhaps some priests would prefer to wait for this before acting on their own...
